Bone augmentation is a daily standard procedure in our oral surgery practice.

In our practice, bone augmentation is typically performed in connection with planned implant treatment. In the hands of experienced surgeons, the prognosis is excellent.

Various causes – such as periodontitis, accidents, or tooth loss – can lead to bone loss. When implant treatment is planned, bone augmentation may become necessary in the upper or lower jaw. These are painless and usually short procedures. A special feature in the upper jaw is sinus floor elevation. A special case in the upper jaw is the sinus lift (sinus floor elevation): in this procedure, the floor of the maxillary sinus is raised back to its original position and sufficient bone substance is restored.

Different biomaterials are available for bone augmentation: the patient’s own bone, donor bone of human or animal origin, or synthetic bone substitute materials, as well as collagen membranes for rebuilding gum and connective tissue. In recent years, PRF – produced from your own blood – has also been used regularly as a growth booster in tissue regeneration. Soft tissue augmentation follows the same protocols.
