Dental Implants

Dental implants made of ceramic or pure titanium, placed in our highly specialized surgical practice, are a safe and lasting solution. The most natural way to replace missing teeth – without healthy neighboring teeth having to suffer for it.

Ceramic or titanium implants?

Titanium implants

The majority of implants placed today are still made of pure titanium, the material with the largest body of clinical experience. Over the past 30 years, alloy, surface, and design have been continuously refined – many of these innovations were developed and patented by Straumann. Healing times, range of indications, and long-term prognosis have improved steadily. For patients, this is a major advantage.

Ceramic implants

Ceramic implants are, by definition, metal-free. The Straumann ceramic implant system incorporates 30 years of experience from the market leader. Both the two-piece ceramic implant line and the PURE monotype ceramic implant have been tested millions of times and have a scientifically documented, excellent long-term prognosis.

From the very beginning, our practice has actively followed and accompanied the parallel development and introduction of these ceramic systems alongside the established titanium implants. Accordingly, we have decades of experience in the use of ceramic implants.

What matters is a careful assessment of the indication – and, of course, surgical excellence. Under these conditions, ceramic implants deliver perfect results in terms of biocompatibility and aesthetics.
